Who we are

Cold Aisle Talent supplies candidate sourcing to recruitment agencies working on data centre projects. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. Write to [email protected] about anything on it — the address is monitored and it reaches a person.

What we hold on candidates

Business contact information about engineers working in data centre and mission-critical construction:

We do not hold home addresses, dates of birth, financial details, national insurance or social security numbers, or any special category data such as health, ethnicity or political opinion. We do not want it and we do not ask for it.

Where it comes from

From licensed business data providers, under contract, who represent that they have the right to supply it. We also hold what you tell us yourself if you reply to us. We do not scrape social networks, and we do not buy lists from brokers who cannot tell us where the data originated.

What we use it for, and on what basis

One purpose: to contact an engineer about a specific role, and — where they reply and agree — to pass their details to the recruitment agency working that role. Nothing else.

We rely on legitimate interest: contacting a professional at their work address about a relevant job in their own field is a use they would reasonably expect, and it is limited, occasional and easy to stop. Every message we send says who we are, why we are writing, and how to opt out in one line. We stop on the first request.

We do not sell data. We do not share it with anyone other than the agency working the role you have agreed to discuss, and only once you have agreed.

What we hold on clients

Business contact details for the people we work with, the briefs they send us, and correspondence about work in progress. Kept for the purpose of doing the work and meeting our contractual and tax obligations.

Removal, and your rights

Email [email protected] and say the word. We will remove you, and we will confirm when it is done.

You can also ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, restriction of what we do with it, or an objection to us using it at all. We answer within 30 days at the outside, usually the same week. There is no charge.

Removal is permanent. We keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not source you again from a later data purchase — that record exists only to keep you off our lists, and is used for nothing else. If you would rather we deleted that too, tell us, and understand that we may not recognise you if your details come round again.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

How long we keep it

Processors and transfers

We use third-party business data providers, an email verification service, an email delivery service, and cloud hosting. All are engaged under contract and may only process data on our instructions. Some are based in the United States, so data is transferred there under the safeguards required by UK and EU data protection law.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period for security purposes.
